What PlaceFit is

PlaceFit ranks places, such as cities, by measurable criteria and lets you weigh those criteria yourself. The site is free. The rating needs no account; the shortlist does. PlaceFit is run by Ovi, a private individual in Ukraine.

Information, not advice

Scores are calculated by a model from public data. The data can be incomplete, estimated or out of date; estimates are marked as such. Nothing on the site is professional advice on relocation, money, taxes or travel. Check what matters to you before you act on it.

Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple and are responsible for what happens under your account, including what agents do with the tokens you create. You can delete the account at any time on your profile page.

Acceptable use

Do not try to break into the site or get around its limits, overload it, collect its data automatically at scale, or use it to break the law. We may restrict access or close an account that does this.

Your content

What you put into your shortlist and notes stays yours. You allow us to store it and show it to you only in order to provide the site. Do not keep other people’s personal data or anything unlawful there.

Data and sources

The page of each place names the source of every value. Map and road data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Statistics from Eurostat © European Union. Other data belongs to its owners and is used under their terms. The rating as a whole, the site’s design and its code are ours.

Availability and liability

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it is always available, free of errors or complete, and we may change or remove features.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made with the help of the site or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be limited.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. If you use the site as a consumer in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country still apply to you.

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its date; continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version.
